REPUBLIC DAY – 2022

73rd Republic Day of our nation was celebrated at BMPS Takshila School within covid restrictions. With a cap on participants at physical celebration, virtual and online participation of students and teachers was commendable. The pictures demonstrate the enthusiasm.

INDEPENDENCE DAY 2021

Message: Students were not there, but nothing could deter the celebration of the 75th Independence Day of our nation. The entire staff of BMPS Takshila School came forward to present a mesmerizing medley of presentations. The School, resplendently decorated in the three national colors, presented an ideal venue for the patriotic fervor.

FELICITATION 2021

Felicitation of CBSE Exam Achievers of 2021 at BMPS Takshila School was a splendid affair, where meritorious students of X and XII, who scored above 90% marks, were felicitated. Revelry and joy marked the occasion as did the pride glowing on the face of doting parents and grand parents. The Class XII topper Yogesh Mundra and Class X topper Devjyoti Pattnayak spoke for all students when they attributed their success to the support of their families and guidance of their teachers. BMPS PARENT’S QUIZ COMPETITION – 2021

The Online Summer Camp – 2021 at BMPS Takshila School seems to be going strong. Here are the winners of the BMPS Parent’s Quiz Competition, who overcame 51 family teams in two rounds of elimination and a closely fought Final Round. Class 2 student Shravya Mohapatra’s father and brother team of Ankit Acharya and Subhradeep Mahapatra won the Final, followed by the team of class 12 student Avinash Pattnaik and his father Mr Mahesh Pattnaik at the second place. The mother son duo Aryaman Pattnaik of class 12 and Ms Anindita Pattnaik came a close third. We congratulate all winners and commend all enthusiastic participants. Kudos also to the organizing school team of teachers for a seamless event.

UTKAL DIVAS – 2021

Utkal Divas 2021 at BMPS Takshila School, Bhubaneswar. The smiles on the kids’ face as they owned the stage, bespoke their pride and passion at belonging to our beautiful State of Odisha and proved they are happy to be back after a painful Corona year.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

Yes! It’s that worldwide festive time of the year again: & we must indulge in joyous celebration, spread love & happiness!

The BMPS Takshila Christmas Card says it all. Swept in the Yuletide spirit, Takshilites ushered in the Christmas spirit with their respective class teachers, enjoying thoroughly in a variety of online activities.
Decorated rooms, dances to the beat of jingle bells, baking cakes & muffins, singing carols & many more activities marked the online event. The Director and the Principal extended warm greetings to the children and their parents with this wonderful card bearing their wishes. Here’s hoping they won’t go unheard by Santa.

ART & CRAFT

Children are naturally creative. It is our responsibility to give them the freedom, materials & space to let their creativity blossom to it’s full potential.

With the Christmas tide on the rise, freshly cut Christmas trees smelling of stars and snow and pine resin— our tiny Takshilites seem to enjoy their art & craft classes a lot more, learning new patterns of creative. Let’s take delight in watching their cheerful faces which defines Christmas at its best- “tenderness of the past, courage for the present, and hope for the future.”

The conventional mind is passive – it consumes information and regurgitates it in familiar forms. At Takshila, we activate the dimensional mind of our students through Experiential Learning, transforming everything it digests into something new and original, creating instead of consuming. GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION – 2020

*Literacy in itself is no education. Literacy is not the end of education or even the beginning. By education it means an all-round drawing out of the best in the child and man-body, mind and spirit.*

The 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation and birthday of Shastri ji was an occasion of solemn introspection and self-realization for the students of BMPS Takshila School. While celebrating it on virtual platform, the students excelled in the thoughtfulness and variety they brought into the programme. The online celebration included plethora of activities like singing of prayer songs, reciting poems, storytelling about the leaders, slogan writing, craft work, poster making, and the list goes on.

There is no greater happiness than expressing the untold stories within us through creativity.

Anxious thoughts can be more difficult to escape in sustained isolation, such as the widespread lockdown measures due to the corona virus pandemic, but art& craft classes have shown to help distract from these feelings.
The rewarding experience of creating, sharing, and using time well stimulate the ‘feel good’ factor within children. Let’s have a look on how our Takshilites portray their innate vibrance and brilliance.

COOKERY FEST

Tough times don’t last, tough people do. The Teachers’ Community at BMPS Takshila School is immersed in their daily responsibility of teaching their classes online, giving homework and taking tests. And also indulging in creative activities for self-motivation during these tough times. The School organised a Lockdown Cookery Fest for them and lo and behold! Each one rose to the occasion with gusto.

MIXING BUSINESS WITH PLEASURE

All work and no play, makes jack a dull boy!’ BMPS Takshila School planned to let the educators shift gears during the busy schedule of paper correction and report card preparation. A few minutes of indulgence in entertaining games and delicious food slowed down the hustle and provided a much-needed relief from the gruelling session-end assignments. So it was time for mouth watering snacks and games for teachers at BMPS Takshila, which never fails to accomplish blurring the line between work and fun for their teachers!

LAST DAY OF CLASS OF PRE-PRIMARY

Last day of the session…exam over…studies over….only party…o what a sensation! Pre-primary tinytots of BMPS Takshila had a groovy time as the session came to a close. Food, games and friendship marked the pot-luck party the kids threw to mark their graduation to next level. The picture and the laughter need no words…

Teachers play a vital role for students in school, but a knock on the door from a teacher before exam days brings relief and confidence.
Teachers of BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL paid visits to the students homes of board batches (X & XII) which tremendously encouraged the students to face their exams with gusto and positivity. The relief and break from monotony are clear on the faces of the children as the teachers share home space with them, giving a much-needed confidence boost.

Saurav Samal of BMPS School have once again shone bright by bagging bronze medals at the *All India Roller Skating Competition -2019 organised by CBSE East Zone Sports and Games Committee* held at Krishna Public School, Sorena, Raipur.
The school Fraternity including the Chairman, Director and Principal congratulated him for his outstanding performance. Keep it up !!!

COUNSELLING SESSION FOR STUDENTS

Guidance and counselling are important for children, and schools like BMPS Takshila always go an extra mile to take the responsibility in bringing out the best in children. Today, counselling of adolescents plays a crucial role in shaping their personality. Through counselling, children are given advice on how to manage and deal with emotional conflict and hand;e personal problems effectively. With this holistic approach, an effective counseling session was conducted for middle and senior classes on 13th Feb, 2020, focusing on developing social and emotional health as well as digital detoxification – a much needed aspect in modern times.

Blessings Ceremony – 2020

There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you all shall be, you will always be in our hearts. The auditorium of BMPS Takshila echoed with the blessings on the morning of 8th Feb when the students of classes IX and XI came together to organize the Blessings Ceremony for the 2020 batch of class X and XII students. It was the morning of mixed emotions for all present. The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce joyous moments. The students organized the function with great enthusiasm and of course endeavored to leave a trail of nostalgia behind.

PICNIC AT JAYADEV VATIKA – 2020

At BMPS Takshila we believe in giving equal importance to work and play. A class picnic was organized for classes 6 to 12 on 5th Feb, 2020. The venue for the picnic was Jaydev Vatika. It’s a beautiful park surrounded by greenery and natural beauty of various species of flora and fauna. The Lilies & Lotus ponds, Fountain, Waterfall and Cascading Stream give a special touch to its beauty.
The children were welcomed by the staff of the park. The students were amazed to see the beautiful natural topography.
They played several games, the teachers too joined in.

After a tiring and a fun packed day, the kids relished their tiffin filled with a variety of food. The group photograph time motivated children to pose in style for the click.

The children expressed their desire to visit the place again. Indeed, it was a great day for one and all.

PICNIC AT NANDANKANAN

Spring is nature’s way of saying let’s party
BMPS Takshila had organised a school picnic for classes Nursery to 5 on 4th Feb, 2020. The children visited Nandan Kanan. It was a bright sunny day and all the students were seen excited to go for their much awaited picnic. In the morning the whole school was full of hustle and bustle when the students of different classes were seen making their way towards their respective buses. While on the way, the students enjoyed in the buses and sang and danced energetically all along, on reaching the picnic spot their excitement and enthusiasm was infectious. Their smiles spread from them to their accompanying teachers as well as the local people there. The children clearly enjoyed their day to the fullest and created beautiful memories to be cherished by them for a long time to come. The laughter and joy that was witnessed amongst the children was something beyond words. The picnic served as a much needed break from the regular schedule of the students in school and the children made the best out of the day.

SARASWATI PUJA CELEBRATION – 2020

On the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja, the students and faculty of B.M.P.S.Takshila came together under one roof to seek the blessings of the goddess of knowledge, music, art and culture. The ritual was graced with the presence of the director and the principal of the school. A beautiful rendition from students transcended the ambience. All joined hands together evoking the blessings of the goddess of knowledge to have a successful academic result of the board students. Gaiety and piety went hand in hand to live an indelible impression in the mind of all those who witnessed the programme.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION – 2020

The 71st Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at B.M.P.S. Takshila on 26th January 2020. A special assembly was conducted by class 7. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to uphold the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is “India”.

NETAJI JAYANTI AT BMPS TAKSHILA – 2020

With a light of patriotism and a breeze of love for country, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birthday or “Netaji Jayanti” is celebrated on 23rd January at BMPS TAKSHILA to instill dedication, sincerity and fighting spirit in the students.

NATIONAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATION – 2020

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti was celebrated on 10th January,2020 to commemorate the contribution and efforts of Swami Vivekananda to bring the feeling of brotherhood in the hearts of young students of India for a prosperous and productive future.

DIWALI CELEBRATION – 2019

BMPS Takshila School celebrated clean and green Diwali with festive gusto. The day started with a special morning assembly conceptualized, choreographed and performed by class VI students, wherein students delivered the message of celebrating eco-friendly Diwali, fight against child labour and the essence of Diwali through speeches, street theatre, dances and songs. As is the practice of the School, Inter-class Rangoli Competition and ‘Diya’ decoration were conducted in celebration. A few snapshots are uploaded to share in our experience.

TREE PLANTATION PROGRAMME – 2019

‘PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT IS THE NEED OF THE HOUR: As Nature’s fury lays forest after forest to waste – be it Fani or the currently raging forest fires of Amazon rain-forest – it becomes every earthling’s responsibility to restore the forest cover, albeit for our own survival. The students of BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL came forward to realize this responsibility with an initiative of planting trees. 100 of these students planted saplings in the Balukhand Forest Reserve, Puri that had lost its green cover during Fani. It was both a service and a learning experience. The pictures here describe the rest.

AVISHKAAR ANNUAL EXHIBITION – 2019

BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL organizes the Annual Exhibition ,”AVISHKAAR” every year on 15 August in an endeavor to bring into vogue the ethical uses of scientific inventions amongst the students to solve the problems of mankind. The exhibition provided a platform to the students of Class I to XII to ventilate their innovative ideas. The projects were presented subject-wise, and exhibits took on various forms ranging from working models, innovative information charts, Power Point presentations, to Live shadow show .The exhibition served as a showcase for the expansive student work through the year and the impressive repertoire of curricular interests and activities.

Saluting the nation and its freedom fighters on its 73rd Independence Day, the staff and students of BMPS TAKSHILA School, celebrated the great day in a special morning assembly. Mr Tutul Kishore Das, the Chaiman unfurled the flag and exhorted the students to take pride in their nation, highlighting India’s unity in diversity.
The school choir’s enlivening performance enhanced the patriotic fervour.

Celebrating this spirit of brotherhood and patriotism on Raksha Bandhan, the students of BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL tied the sacred thread to personnels of police, traffic and our Indian army soldiers and expressed their gratitude for their raksha with the bandhan.The appeal of this bond is universal and the celebration spans not only between own siblings but also extends to different sections of the society. This endeavour is a symbol of universal brotherhood and to make the children as well as our soldiers feel special and foster the spirit of love.

MONSOON MASTI AT BMPS TAKSHILA…….

The cheerful faces, drizzling sky and greenery everywhere announced that monsoon has arrived. Monsoon came alive straight in the school when the full of fun filled activity “Monsoon Masti” took place on 27th July 2019. An annual feature, Monsoon Masti provides a fun-filled platform to parents, students and teachers to come together and spend quality, creative time with eachother. The school came alive with children’s laughter & giggles while dancing in the rain dance. Monsoon reached at the threshold of BMPS TAKSHILA this weekend.

RELIGIONS TRIP FOR PRE-PRIMARY

SACRED SPACE….VISIT TO PLACES OF WORSHIP……..
Pre Primary students of BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL visited a Temple, Gurudwara, Church and Mosque as part of their educational tour. They returned with first hand experience of different religious places and religions followed in our country. The little ones were seen soaking in the religious fervour in all their innocence. After a rendezvous with unity in diversity, they came back with the most basic understanding of secular existence in Incredible India.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY AT BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL……..

‘Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality’.
Proud moment for BMPS TAKSHILA….the eagerly awaited ‘Investiture Ceremony’ for the academic session 2019-20 was held on 18th July. The newly elected School Leaders Devjyoti Patnaik of IX A and Shrestha Samal of X, along with their team of 24 Office Bearers, proudly shouldered the mantle of responsibilities and promised to carry it out with utmost ‘Dedication,Loyalty,Truth and Honour’.

AN EXTRA MILE IN ROLLER SKATING………

Students of BMPS TAKSHILA School, Ms. Bhavna Patra of class VI and Mr. Sourav Samal of class IX have rolled an extra mile to get a place in the INTERNATIONAL BOOK OF RECORDS by participating in ‘Largest People Skating Competition’ organised by World Wide Event Manager, New Delhi, which was held from 27th to 29th April 2019. The event was an attempt for creating World Record of Excellence. Congratulations to the participants!!!!! BMPS Takshila is proud of you!

FANCY DRESS AT BMPS TAKSHILA – 2019

Fancy Dress is a regular competition in most schools. But it took a new hue at BMPS Takshila, when kids of Pre primary donned unique costumes and enacted the characters they had become. 3 and 4 year olds had become blood donor, traffic signal, doctor, soldier and what not. Their confidence, enthusiasm and exuberance took everyone by surprise. Here are some pics for all to savour.

CELEBRATION OF YOGA DAY AT BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL – 2019

A healthy mind resides in a healthy body and Yoga is a perfect way to achieve this. Our school observed the International Day of Yoga on 21.06.2019, where teachers and students performed Asanas, Mudras, Pranayama and Dhyana, acknowledging that practice of yoga will surely help our students achieve a better life, physically, mentally and spiritually. Various asanas followed by Omkar chanting, warm up exercises were taken and the students also performed sitting and standing asanas. The yoga guru also explained the importance of these simultaneously. A great mission indeed to stay healthy and fit !!!!

FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATION AT BMPS TAKSHILA – 2019

The glorious journey of BMPS Takshila School began its 10th year on its Foundation Day on 18.06.2019. This prestigious cradle of education began on June 18, 2010. The School Management, through their vision, have been able to script several success stories, nurturing the aspirations of many students till date.

From ensuring academic excellence to creating arena for cultural activities for overall development of students, setting benchmark for others, the school has registered its presence in various state and national competitions, since its inception. Chairman and Director of the school present on the occasion applauded the journey of the school and praised the students for winning and achieving success in different areas.

Indian Army

INDIAN ARMY AT BMPS TAKSHILA

15 April 2019…a day with a difference at BMPS Takshila School. The 120 Infantry Battalion (TA) Bihar, Bhubaneswar of the Indian Army organized a ‘Display of Weapon and Equipment’ as part of “KNOW YOUR ARMY CAMPAIGN”. It aimed to educate young minds about the culture of the armed forces and motivate them to join the Indian Army.

Students participated in an interaction session with the Commanding Officer Colonel Debadutta Swain.There were vivid discussions on the role of Territorial Army in Nation building. Various queries of students on how to join Indian Army were also addressed.

The weapons were lucratively displayed in the green field . The students witnessed and had hands on demonstration of the various weapons used by the Indian Army. The enthusiasm of staff, students and parents alike charged he atmosphere of the school.

BMPS TAKSHILA PAY HOMAGE TO MARTYRS OF JALIANAWALLABAGH

To pay homage to the victims of the Jalianawallawagh massacre exaçtly a 100 years ago, the students of BMPS Takshila School presented a special assembly comprising speeches, poem recitation and a tableau on the incident. The incident that led to the launching of the non-cooperation movement by Gandhiji and renouncing of his Knighthood by Gurudev Ravindranath Tagore is a glowing example of the non-violent spirit of Indian freedom struggle.

DEALING WITH ADOLESCENCE

Adolescence is the time of identity renewal for teenagers, with unfamiliar changes taking place in and around them, posing before them social concerns and personal dilemmas. It is the age of inconsistency and ambivalence. Schools, as loco parentis, need to do their best to make this transitional journey easy and smooth. The School management, teachers and counselors must unite in preparing the kids for it, sensitizing them towards issues of gender equality, social media addiction and self defense techniques in possible risky situations. Imparting accurate, adequate and pragmatic knowledge about the process of growing up with a focus on physical, biological and psychological changes, is of paramount importance. UTKAL DIVAS CELEBRATION AT BMPS TAKSHILA…..
Utkal Divas on 1st April 2019 at BMPS Takshila School was a gala affair as the entire school came together celebrating the birth of this historic and glorious state of Odisha. Adding to the pomp was the presence of eminent Odia litterateur Dr Mrs Prativa Satpathy as the Chief Guest.On display was a gamut of programmes like songs, skit, quiz show, dance medley, etc. Students took pledge to promote odia language, culture and tradition of Odisha. Cooking competition ‘Ama Handishala’ was organised which was open for parents,grand parents & teachers and winner was felicitated. The rendition of the State anthem Bande Utkala Janani was witness to the pride every one felt being an Odia or living here.

BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL OBSERVES WORLD AUTISM DAY…..
The learning disability of autism is ubiquitous across educational institutions. It needs awareness among people to fight to speak out against discrimination, celebrate the diversity of our global community and strengthen our commitment to the full inclusion and participation of people with autism.To create this awareness the Roller Skaters of BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL, in association with Zain Foundation, took out a FLAG MARCH around the school area for this purpose.

NETAJI & VEER SURENDRA SAI JAYANTI – 2019

BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL celebrated the birthdays of Netaji Subhash Bose and Veer Surendra Sai on 23 January to kindle love for the great sons of India among their students through conducting a special assembly. Fully choreographed and coordinated by the young students of class IV under the guidance of their class teachers, it was a joy to watch. Patriotic songs in praise of Netaji were sung, the relevance of the doctrines of Netaji and Veer Surendra were conveyed through speeches, dances were performed and a quiz on Netaji was conducted by 2 students of class IV. The assembly focused on upholding the values of selfless patriotism and unfettered heroism.

ANNUAL SPORTS PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY – 2019

BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL celebrated their Annual Sports Prize Giving Ceremony on 19 January, 2019 with great zeal, splendour and enthusiasm. Eminent Golfer, an international player, Shrimati Lakhi Swain graced the occasion as chief guest and regaled the audience with her unique life story as a sportsperson. She exhorted parents to support their children to pursue sports.The students displayed an array of sporting events like Yoga, Aerobics and Pyramid drills that mesmerized the audience. The winners were awarded medals and trophies by the Chief Guest, Director and the Principal. Bhaskaracharya House won the Best House trophy.

SPORTS WEEK JUNIOR – 2019

Sports Week is in full swing at BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL. From tiny tots of Pre primary to senior classes, students are vying for the prizes with unprecedented gusto. Athletics, races, group events, all are on, displaying true sporting spirit of the Takshilites. Today, classes I & II participated in Arithmetic race, Ready for School, Sack race, English spelling race,etc.

The students of BMPS Takshila School met the Commissioner Shri Satyajit Mohanty, Commissionerate of Police, Govt of
Odisha, on 15.01.2019. In an inspiring half an hour interactive session, Shri Mohanty detailedly spoke about the workings of the police, the commitment and sacrifice, the responsibility and the expectations from citizens. The students presented a pledge and a collection of students’ letters to the Commissioner, expressing their desire to be of assistance to the city police in any way they could.

NATIONAL YOUTH DAY – 2019

BMPS Takshila celebrated National Youth Day on 12.01.2019 by drawing on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The students of class 5 presented a special assembly comprising quizzes, speech, role play and motivational songs. BMPS Takshila aims to empower students by assigning various activities to them thereby developing their leadership qualities, accountability and team work. It was a laudable performance coordinated by class teachers of class V.

FUN AND FROLIC DAY OUT – 2018

BMPS TAKSHILA School organised Annual Picnic for students of classes III to XI recently. The students went to a farm house located on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. On reaching the farm house, the children enthusiastically explored the alluring beauty and bounties of nature. The nature walk helped them to observe different types of plants all around them. The day was well spent enjoying, singing, dancing, interacting with each other and playing different games. The trip was a memorable one and it motivated the students to take care of their environment and to maintain cleanliness around them. It was a wonderful opportunity for all the children to strengthen their bonds and everyone came back to the school rejuvenated.

MERRY CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION – 2018

Little Santa Clauses of our school spread Chris cheer in the neighborhood by distributing sweets. Friends, it’s Christmas time and the air is filled with Yuletide spirit. Sharing, giving, love, compassion and comaraderie is what symbolizes this festival. Our little ones of pre-primary, decked in Santa caps went to another school in the neighborhood and distributed chocolates to the students and the teachers. They even performed two dances for their entertainment.

TINY TOTS PICNIC – 2018

With the onset of winter and beautiful weather BMPS Takshila School planned the annual picnic for tiny tots of Pre-primary to std II at Ekamra Park. Though the morning were foggy and cold, refreshing and broad smiles on the faces of the children were the clear depiction of their enthusiasm and excitement. The children had fun in the lap of nature enjoying to their fullest. Located in the city, the park is known for its lush green and well- kept surroundings, leaping fountain and captivating swings. The area became lively with the presence of the children who devoted themselves to playing and having the ultimate fun. The sparkling play station was much adored by them. The teachers used this opportunity to strengthen their loving and caring bond with the students. The children screaming out of joy spoke in itself the celebration time….

TWISHA – 2018 (JUNIOR)

Twisha-2018 was as usual a much anticipated affair for the entire BMPS Takshila family. Day 1, which showcased performances of nursery to class V, began with an Odissi rendition of Shivpanchak, a tale about Shiva and Parvati. Students danced the evening away with mesmerizing presentation of Lohri, Rasarkeli, Lavani and Snakeboat dance. The story of Mowgli, presented by classes 3, 4 & 5 drew huge applause as did Uttar Ramayana, the story of Luv-Kush, staged by the children of class 3. In the action songs from Nursery, LKG, UKG and class 1, vibrantly attired tiny-tots spellbound the audience. The stick dance of class 2, choreographed to Korean music was a winner.

AN EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO KALA BHOOMI – ODISHA CRAFTS MUSEUM

The students of BMPS TAKSHILA SCHOOL of classes IX, X & XI visited KALA BHOOMI- ODISHA CRAFTS MUSEUM on November 24, 2018 as a part of their educational trip. It is one-of-its-kind museum in Odisha which provided the students gateway to the magical world of craftsmanship. The students got an opportunity to visit the only state-owned Museum in Eastern India that celebrates the multifaceted, rich and vibrant traditions of handlooms and handicrafts of the state. The guides explained the students as they entered the museum and led them to see the Terracotta Gallery, Traditional Painting Gallery, Stone and Wood Carving Gallery, Natural material crafts Gallery, Pre-weaving techniques Gallery, Tribal Crafts Gallery and the Handloom Gallery. Students enjoyed each and every minute they spent during the trip.The visit proved to be a great way to arouse curiosity in the minds of students and was a thrilling and motivating experience.

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES – CHILDREN’S DAY – 2018

Children’s Day was celebrated at BMPS TAKSHILA School with great enthusiasm. Celebrations began with a prayer and the entire assembly was conducted by the teachers. The day’s celebration commemorated the 130th birth anniversary of our first Prime Minster, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. The day was dedicated to children and the teachers showcased acts, dances and songs to make their day a memorable one.

To inculcate greater awareness on vigilance in public life and in our endeavour to promote transparency, probity and integrity in public life to encourage the fight against corruption,BMPS Takshila organized various activities along with NTPC and Bank of Baroda during the. The school along with oath taking organised various competitions like poster making on corruption,essay Competition and speech competition etç. The topic of essay was ‘ Role of Youth in Eradicating Corruption in India’ and topic for speech was ‘Ethenic and probity should be compulsory subjects in all educational instiitutes’.This activity served as a platform to sensitize and empower students who play an important role in promoting integrity. The Students participated enthusiastically in the activities and initiated out of box ideas to safeguard future corruptions.

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES – DIWALI CELEBRATION

BMPS Takshila celebrated Harit Diwali in association with Regional Museum of Natural History and Sciences, Bhubaneswar. In a special assembly conducted by classes VI A & VI B, the students put forth a fabulous programme comprises speeches, skit, songs, etc. All students took the Green Pledge to take care of the environment and to stop bursting fire crackers.

Students of BMPSTAKSHILA were privileged to be a part of the ‘Ekamra Sports Literary Festival’ – 2018 on Friday 2 November. The event aimed to develop a sports culture and generate interest about popular games among the youngsters. The games and their impact, the players and their struggles, victories and rejoices, failures and disappointments, the stories behind each story – sports literature truly captivated our young minds.

This fest provided a unique platform for literary exchanges between authors, sports enthusiasts, & players. Nimisha Gaurav of BMPS Takshila School, fielded questions to Jeff about top cricketers he loved. The other students were excited meeting Jeff and others and were very happy to get autograph of Jeff Thomson and Ric Charlesworth, Slash Chopra and felt awesome. IT WAS INDEED A MEMORABLE DAY……

Alongside literacy and numeracy, another skill needed in our workforce today is creativity which is in form of DANCE. Understanding the importance of dance in a child’s life our school, BMPS Takshila believes that a high quality cultural education should be a right, not a privilege.
DANCE IS A MOVEMENT. Dance, like any other art form such as theatre, music or painting, provides an outlet for creativity, curiosity, emotion and brings balance and equanimity. Psychologists have suggested dance as a handy tool for teaching children with special needs. At BMPS Takshila, students are exposed to myriads of dance forms from Indian classical and folk to Western classical as well as modern dances. Children have presented Odissi, Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, mohiniattam, Manipuri, Bihu, Bhangra, Gadwa, Sambalpuri, Rasarkeli, Salsa, Hip-hop, on various platforms inside and outside the school. Students of BMPS have represented the school in various television reality dance shows.

DUSSERA

Dussera is representative of the triumph of good over evil. Durga is symbolic of not only goodness and courage, but represents the whole womankind. The students of BMPS Takshila presented ‘Vijaya’, a street theatre showcasing the much-needed impetus for protection and develop of the girl child. These students understand the precariously positioned status of girls in our boy-centred society and are trying to drive the message home through their street play.

WORLD TOURISM DAY

Tourism plays an important social, economic, and cultural role worldwide. Traveling is an essential part of lifelong learning. So for this reason the United Nations (UN) has declared 27 September World Tourism Day. Acknowledging the importance of travelling, our school BMPS Takshila had organised an educational trip to Hyderabad for a visit to Ramoji Film city. It was a dream come true excursion for the school children with unlimited fun and entertainment. The man made wonderland was a memorable break from the classroom. Amid safe and secure settings school ensured comfortable stay and healthy food under supervision of teachers. The trip really offered the students a thrilling challenge to their imagination and excitement levels.

NANDANKANAN ZOO VISIT

PrePrimary students of BMPS Takshila school had ‘Wow Moments’ when they stepped into the Nandankanan Zoo It helped the students to get up close with many amazing animals, gained an understanding of the role of a good zoo, and discovered what they could do to care for the natural world.
Their excitement and wonder at exploring the Zoo and meeting animals was infectious. All kids experienced a magical day at the Zoo. We’re extremely proud.

SWACHHATA PAKHWADA AT BMPS

Bhubaneswar Model Public School, Bhubaneswar has recognized the vital role of the schools in spreading the Swachhata awareness and its implementation across the country. As per CBSE directions to all schools to observe the Swachhata Pakhwada , our school has undertaken variety of activities. Under this directive, our school has enthusiastically organized various competitions, speeches, slogan writing, poster making, Panel Discussion, Debate, quiz and other activities for the realization of the programme. Keeping this mission in mind, during the week to celebrate Swachhata Pakhwada, all the students of the school were engaged in different activities. Special activities were arranged for them in the morning assembly. The junior classes were engaged in quiz and painting competition based on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The teachers sensitized the students in their classes about the importance of cleanliness of the surrounding. To enlighten students with the importance of our national language and help them in understanding the rich culture of our country, HINDI DIVAS was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Class VII, being the organizer of the event, presented a spectacular show in form of a special assembly, giving students a chance to develop their language skills and polish their vocabulary through various speeches, poem recitation, story telling etc. Quizzes on proverbs carried the show to a great success.

GRAND PARENTS DAY celebrated in BMPS TAKSHILA was a great success. Nostalgia filled the air when grandparents participated with great vigour and enthusiasm. They enjoyed participating in different activities like antakshsri, dumbshered etc. Many danced, sang and shared their experiences. The event was organised by classes Nursery to class II, with class II taking up the initiative. Kids felt proud serving their grandparents and parents from ‘Dadi’s Kitchen’ with their handmade sandwiches, sprout charts and many more.We must appreciate our grandparents as they strike a balance between pampering and parenting.

Learning techniques of self defence has become a necessity in our society. Rising to the occasion, BMPS has taken the onus of providing self defence training (Karate) to all the students. Every week, the students of class III to class XII undergo compulsory Karate training by professional coaches. Students of class–VIII visited Missionaries of Charity, Bhubaneswar to spend some time with the inmates of the home. Students distributed snacks and sweets indulging in this philanthropic activity students have taken forward the charitable tradition of our school.

It is an annual feature in the school calendar, where parents, both old and new, are appraised about the systems of the school. The orientation included welcome note by Ms Ritu Giri, keynote address by the School Principal Ms Lipsita Mohan, EDAC pedagogy orientation by the In-charge Ms Rajashree and an outline of CBSE assessment norms by Ms Kirtigha Krishnan.
