Takshila Advantages

GIVE YOUR CHILD ‘THE BMPS TAKSHILA ADVANTAGE’

School has unique features that set it apart from other schools. A gamut of special features show how BMPS Takshila is different from other schools. To begin with, being in the centre provides the School with accessibility from all corners of the city. Walled and monitored round the clock, the School ensures safety and security of the students at all points of time. Air-conditioned classrooms, a well developed sports complex, orientation towards activities are catalysts in bringing about dynamic changes in the student’s personality and performance.

  • LOW STUDENT : TEACHER RATIO
  • Every section has 25 students ensuring equal attention to all students of the class. The same teacher-student ratio has been being followed since the School’s inception.

  • DIGITAL CLASSROOMS
  • As an ICT-friendly school, all our classrooms are digitally equipped with smart boards and learning software to assist facilitation of learning. It also serves to address the needs of different learners such as auditory, visual and kinesthetic.

  • EDAC PEDAGOGY
  • A unique learner-centred, activity-based and NEP 2020 modeled pedagogy has been in use at the School since its inception. The pedagogy of EDAC aims to do away with rote-learning and focuses on knowledge enhancement, innovative thinking as well as application-based skill development among the learners.

  • BLENDED CLASSROOMS
  • The School always has had an ICT-driven functioning. At present, blended learning, where both online and physical classrooms combine, has become the norm. Regular formative assessments, doubt-clearing classes, remedial teaching, etc. are imparted online. Blended classrooms have also removed the loss of school days owing to weather conditions and other such happenings.

  • FLIPPED CLASSROOMS
  • This is an international concept which is finding many takers in schools across the globe. In this concept, tasks traditionally done in the class are done at home and tasks traditionally done at home are done in school. Up to class VII, special periods are allotted to do the homework under the professional supervision of teachers. The benefit is two-fold: while homework gets done, it eliminates students going to tuitions after school. It also means more fun time at home with parents as homework is done!

  • VALUE EDUCATION
  • Though all school activities impart some value or the other, the School practises a robust value education system, focusing on traditional values of patriotism, respect, honesty, sincerity, love, hard work, etc. along with 21st century value systems of environmental sensitivity, tolerance of diversity, respect for labour, sharing, global awareness, etc. In fact, the same have been enshrined in the Vision and Mission statement of the School.

  • PHYSICAL EDUCATION
  • School sets ample score with Health & Physical Education of Students as per provisions of NEP 2020 and CBSE Guidelines. Daily sports and games, self-defense training, intermittent health checkups, sports club, aerobics club, etc. are a regular feature of the school curriculum. 26 sports and games are offered to choose from, including Roller Skating & Karate.

  • OLYMPIAD & NTSE EXAMINAITONS

Robotics, Coding & AI are offered on an optional basis and trained professionals impart coaching to students on a weekly module.

  • FOCUS ON MATHEMATICS
  • Mathematics is a subject feared by most. NEP 2020 has stressed on developing Numeracy at the elementary level and has made various provisions to make Math easy and fun. At BMPS Takshila, that process has been in place through our fully-equipped Mathematics Lab and our EDAC pedagogy where students learn Math through fun activities. Other pedagogies like Abacus, Vedic math, etc. are also offered as optional subjects. Students regularly participate and excel in CBSE Ganit Challenge and other competitions.

The School Counsellor regularly provides psychological couselling as well as career-related counselling to students who need it. Webinars and seminars in collaboration with various universities, both in India as well as abroad, are periodically organized to provide guidance to the students regarding career and higher education.

  • FOCUS ON SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
  • Nurturing the sense of social responsibility at an early age is essential for every child and society at large. Making them understand the value of sharing and helping should be done early on and at BMPS Takshila, this culture has been at the very core of our educational philosophy. It is enshrined in the Vision & Mission of our school. Participating in Joy of Giving week, celebrating Labour Day by cleaning the school and felicitating the support staff, plantation drives, observing Traffic Safety Week, sponsoring education of under-privileged children, observing the School’s Foundation Day on every 18th June by visiting an orphanage or old-age home, etc. are some of the activities worthy of mention. A unique activity that students do is periodically, they collect old newspapers from residential complexes and the funds raised are used for the education of an underprivileged girl child. ‘Café Takshila’ is an Inter-House fund raising activity, where proceedings are used for social welfare schemes.

  • CREATING CLIMATE CHANGE AWARENESS
  • Keeping with our mission of creating ‘environment-conscious global citizens of future’, the school’s focus now has also included creating awareness about environmental degradation, climate change, reducing carbon footprint and sustainability. An immediate goal is to create awareness about reducing use of plastic and making the school ‘a plastic-free zone’.
